The Rising Cost of House Rent India: A Challenge to India’s Progress and Equality
Pranam and Namaste, Modiji,
I hope this message finds you in good health and spirits. I deeply admire your unwavering dedication to building a stronger and more prosperous India. With great respect and concern, I write to you today about a pressing issue faced by our brave soldiers, police officers, and ordinary citizens—access to affordable housing.
Our army personnel, soldiers, and police officers are the backbone of our nation’s security, willingly risking their lives for our safety. Yet, many of them struggle to find affordable rental housing, often moving from one place to another.
Is it fair that those who sacrifice so much for the country endure such hardships for something as essential as shelter?
This issue extends beyond our active forces to ordinary citizens as well. With rents often surpassing half of an individual’s income, families need more to save or invest in their future.
For instance, if someone earns ₹30,000 but pays ₹15,000 in rent, how can they sustain a decent quality of life? This imbalance creates undue stress and potentially fosters social challenges like crime and corruption.
Would it be possible to regulate and standardize rental rates across cities and states to ensure fairness? Affordable housing initiatives or subsidies for essential service providers like soldiers and police officers could also be explored. These steps would ease their burdens and contribute to a more equitable and progressive India.
I submit these thoughts for your kind consideration. If I have erred in any way, I sincerely seek your forgiveness. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter, which profoundly impacts the lives of countless citizens.
Sincerely,
A Proud Citizen of India
